Mario takes his first steps in the third-dimension in his first ever 3D platforming adventure.

Princess Peach invites Mario over to her castle, only for him to find her missing. Bowser has invaded again and sealed the princess away using the energy of the stolen Power Stars. Mario must travel through the magical paintings found throughout the castle to retrieve the Power Stars and defeat Bowser and his minions.
